Let’s Talk to Woof Woof!

Children’s Book Design & Production

I designed this children’s book by transforming projection artwork from a theatrical dance production into fully composed, illustrated spreads. In addition to layout design and hand-lettered typography, I created new illustrations and meticulously crafted each composition using Procreate & Photoshop to build a cohesive visual narrative. As an independent project, I also managed the full production process from concept to manufacturing and print.

The Process:

  • Sourced custom manufacturing for specialty specs: saddle-sewn binding, curved corners, laminated glossy pages.

  • Negotiated pricing, scope, and production contracts.

  • Storyboarded manuscript in collaboration with the author to craft pacing, rhythm and visual impact with each spread.

  • Concepted and composited illustrations using assets from the theatrical production, video stills, and original artwork files.

  • Created supplemental custom illustrations and hand-lettered all page typography in Procreate.

  • Applied industry-standard book design conventions with expert feedback (title page, end pages, CIP, margins).

  • Prepped final files for print and managed production handoff.

  • Designed Kickstarter campaign visuals (fully funded) and formatted a version for Amazon KDP.
