My Life at Home

The following series of drawings reflects my home life in Bushwick, Brooklyn circa 2019. Although the hipster portrait may seem like an odd subject to include in the series, it represents the freedom I felt in that particular part of Brooklyn to find my own identity through crafting and creature comfort, and therefore feels like a very important part of the series as a whole. Pastel colors, gradient shading, and simple flat texture visually unify this series while the diverse choice of subject matter provides exciting differentiation. Representing divergent elements of my world in soft, friendly hues speaks to my appreciation of individuality and strong expression of character.
